Alexander Smith and Lyn Coffin are our featured readers on Wednesday September 23rd, 2020 starting at 7 PM. Both are regulars on our PoetryBridge LIVE! readings and it will be a treat to have them as featured readers. Lyn is filling in for Mary Crane who was originally scheduled, but due to wildfires is stuck in Eastern WA without a good Zoom connection. I will reschedule her later.
Lyn will be reading from her novella, that was not published, including a poem titled The Flower and a play with two voices. I will be reading the male voice. Should be fun. Later on October 28, Lyn will talk about the novel that did get published.
View POEMS to see poems they plan on reading. We invite all Community Micers to read after our featured readers. An invitation link will be sent to everyone on the PoetryBridge email list. Please email me at info@poetrybridge.net to request being added to the list.
Alexander Smith, Seattle poet, has resided in the Seattle area since 1989, having grown up in southern California and is the father of three grown children.
His poetry dates from the mid-1960’s to now. Alex has been a longtime participant/reader of poetry at open mic venues like North End Forum, Hugo House and EasySpeak Seattle, and a sometime sit-in with the 52nd St Band. He plays harmonica and has developed a harmonica/poetry style to add to his spoken word.
As for day jobs, Alex has had a long career in business, as well as university teaching in social sciences.
Due to a deliciously mis-spent youth, he is still working his day job.
Lyn has more than 30 books ouT. Her novel, The Aftermath, will be published by Adelaide Books (New York) this year. Her serial novel Tinder is in process on her website lyncoffin dot com. Poems of hers have appeared in over 100 small or large magazines. She is an active dramatist and translator, as well.
